Original HUMAX HDR-1000S Freesat+ with Freetime, using the manufacturer-authored guide hosted by Argos. Its production sheet identifies document 20000-00566, revision 400 dated 19 August 2014. Those are document details, not disk capacity or a hardware part number. Not HDR-1100S or FOXSAT-HDR; historical internet services and present support are not promised.

How it connects

The original manual requires two dish cables for recording one channel while watching another, or recording two channels while playing an earlier recording. With one cable that documented multitasking is unavailable. Ethernet to a broadband router is a separate path for the historical internet features; it does not supply a second satellite feed or make an On Demand programme recordable.

Lights and messages

• Recording set, recording failed, part watched, watched, kept and to be deleted soon are different on-screen icons. A scheduled entry is not proof that a playable recording was made; a series can store episodes together.
• The bar at the top of Recordings shows remaining recording space. The original automatic-space behavior can delete the oldest recording when room is needed; deleting soon identifies candidates, while kept recordings have their own folder and protection. These are not the same as a failed-recording icon.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

• The original broadband section describes an Ethernet cable to the router and, where distance prevents that, a pair of Homeplug adapters as an option. It does not establish any current adapter model or replacement disk compatibility. Use the exact existing equipment records when asking about parts; the manual production code is not a storage specification.
