Hughes 9502 ATEX/C1D2 edition — 3500782 Rev H

Separate GNSS fix, BGAN registration, an active PDP context and local equipment connectivity on the exact labelled edition. Preserve the hazardous-location installation and identify legacy versus Gen2 hardware before comparing network features.

Confirm your model

This is the ATEX/C1D2-labelled external-antenna edition documented by Hughes 3500782-0001 Rev H, dated 23 February 2026. The manual identifies kit 3500509-0004; it is not the standard H64151 edition. Match installed markings, IDU part number and software before applying these observations. This page does not determine hazardous-area suitability, certification validity or current airtime entitlement.

How it connects

The IDU and ODU connect through the specified RF cable. RJ45 Ethernet carries the local equipment path; USB Type B is the configuration interface, and DB9 RS232 is for an external NMEA GNSS device, not serial user data. The manual places additional restrictions on USB use in hazardous locations. Keep all connections unchanged and use only an already authorized operator interface for these observations.

Lights and messages

  • GPS flashes while acquiring a fix and becomes steady with a 2D/3D fix. NET flashes after network registration and becomes steady when a PDP context is established. All three LEDs flashing belongs to installation mode; a short-flash pattern can instead signal a fault. The flow chart also permits LEDs to go dark in the operational state. Record the full pattern and existing web status; do not press the multifunction button to investigate.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • The documented kit includes separate IDU/ODU units and a 10 m N-to-N RF cable with the specified N-to-TNC adapter. Mounting options and cable requirements must be matched to this edition and site documentation by qualified personnel. A standard-9502 label, similar USB cable or matching RF connector does not establish suitability for this installation.

These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
