Hughes 9350 — 9300 Series Rev D

Historical land-mobile BGAN equipment with separate local access, network attachment and antenna-tracking evidence. Keep the installed terminal class and existing service state distinct.

Confirm your model

Hughes 9350 as documented in the 9300 Series guide 1038495-0001 Rev D, copyright 2009–2010. The cover names the series and internal headers name 9350; the manual covers Class 10 and 11. Read the installed UE Class rather than inferring class, antenna compatibility or current service from the model name. Not Hughes 9450.

How it connects

The installed system separates a land-mobile tracking antenna from the indoor modem (IDU). Ethernet, USB and configured WLAN are local computer paths; RJ11 telephone/fax and ISDN are distinct service interfaces. The original tel port is configured for speech and fax port for 3.1 kHz service. Local MMI access does not itself establish the satellite-side PS data or CS call connection.

Lights and messages

  • The IDU has four named LEDs: Power green means on; Ready green means network attached and flashing means not attached. Alarm red reports a detected hardware fault and calls for the exact MMI alarm, not a guessed component replacement. Comm green means a circuit-switched call is up; it is not a packet-data activity indicator.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • The original package description lists a land-mobile tracking-antenna kit and a Hughes IDU modem kit; the service provider supplies the SIM and configuration information. Installation and grounding belong to separate guide P/N 1038494. This user manual does not provide an antenna part-number mapping that would justify choosing replacement hardware from UE Class alone.

These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
