Goodmans GFSAT101SD — original Rev1 060411

An HD channel can appear in the programme guide even though this SD receiver cannot display it. Separate that documented format limit from a missing SCART picture, poor satellite readings or a manually stored service hidden from the normal guide. Keep the original channel list and reminders before another installation.

Confirm your model

Goodmans GFSAT101SD, the standard-definition model printed on the actual manual cover. The final page identifies Rev1 060411, consistent with the 6 April 2011 production footer GFSAT101SD_IB for EAGA_0411. This is not evidence for a GFSAT101SD2 or GFSAT200HD/A variant. Old channel lists, software-upgrade examples, frequencies and support numbers do not establish current availability or upgrade support.

How it connects

The original back panel has the mains lead, LNB IN for the dish cable and one SCART output to the television. The documented TV path is SCART, not HDMI, and a normal terrestrial roof aerial is not the satellite input. Confirm the selected TV input and existing cable route before interpreting a blank screen as loss of satellite reception. The manual does not document a USB recording or firmware socket on this rear panel.

Lights and messages

  • The Information menu shows hardware/software, model/manufacturer, Lock Indicator, Network ID, Transport Stream, Signal Strength and Signal Quality. Read those as one reception/identity snapshot with channel and time. The ordinary programme banner is a different screen: its programme title and times do not prove the receiver can decode an HD service. Missing network/transport identifiers and poor readings have their own dish/cable/weather support branch.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • The original box list includes a SCART cable, remote and printed user/quick-start guides. Match the actual SCART television connection rather than assuming an HDMI lead makes this SD receiver HD-capable. The source gives no approval for another model’s remote or an arbitrary powered video converter. First-time installation is not an accessory fix: it removes reminders and manually added non-Freesat channels.

These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
