Original BEAM Oceana 400 (OC400), covered by the shared Terra 400/Oceana 400 manual USRMAN005805, revision 04, April 2013. The manual distinguishes the maritime active-antenna OC400 from the passive-antenna TR400. This is not Oceana 800, an IsatDock handset cradle or evidence of current FleetPhone activation, software support or service coverage.
How it connects
The installed maritime antenna has separate satellite and GPS cable paths to the terminal; the specified terminal connectors are TNC for satellite and SMA for GPS. The local telephone path is the RJ11/POTS port, which provides the analogue telephone tones. Mini USB is a separate configuration/data interface, not an Ethernet router port. Inspect existing labels and records only; do not disconnect powered RF cables.
Lights and messages
- On the page 23 status table, steady SIGNAL means registered and flashing SIGNAL means not registered; green, yellow and red distinguish good, poor and no signal. A SIGNAL cycling through all three colours is a separate error state: CALL and MSG then encode the fault. Record each lamp by name, colour and rhythm rather than calling every red light the same failure.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- The original package lists the OC400 terminal, an active maritime antenna, AC supply, DC power lead, USB cable and mounting screws. The manual lists separate active-antenna cable kits for OC400 and passive kits for TR400; a matching plug alone does not establish compatibility. Use the installed antenna/cable labels with authorised support. Historical Windows XP/7 Falcon instructions do not establish support on a modern computer.
These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
