BEAM DriveDOCK Extreme EXTRMDD for the Extreme handset, USRMAN007107 Rev07, April 2017. Not PotsDOCK, IsatDock or a standalone satellite transceiver. Match the installed handset and accessories; this historical manual does not establish current service or other handset compatibility.
How it connects
The installed cradle links the Extreme handset to separate Iridium and GPS antenna connections. External speaker and microphone form the default handsfree path unless an optional Privacy handset, Intelligent handset or Bluetooth audio device is enabled. The overview separates Mini-USB, Intelligent-handset and privacy-audio connections; the Privacy handset uses the documented four-pole 3.5 mm socket. Bluetooth voice is built into this cradle, not borrowed from another dock model.
Lights and messages
- Read the button label before its color. Ring slow orange identifies Privacy or Intelligent handset use; slow green indicates incoming ringing. The Mute button red identifies microphone/uplink mute during a call. Mute ends with the call, so an idle unlit Mute cannot reconstruct an earlier audio fault.
- On the cradle Bluetooth button, solid blue means a paired device is connected; slow blue flashing means that device is being used in a call. Fast blue searches for a paired device, while alternating blue/orange is discovery. These are local audio states, not evidence that satellite registration or a call has succeeded.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- The original manual distinguishes the optional BEAM Privacy Handset from the optional Intelligent handset. Privacy uses the four-pole 3.5 mm audio socket; Intelligent has its own labeled port. The external handsfree speaker and microphone are supplied for the default audio path. Identify which option is installed before comparing a replacement; a similar connector does not establish compatibility.
These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
