RV & marine / Detailed guide

KING-DOME 9630 / 9630-LP · Exact manual and safe first checks

KING-DOME 9630 / 9630-LP · 1305 Rev E · AutoScan · printed pages 7–19

Applies to: KING-DOME 9630 / 9630-LP · 1305 Rev E · AutoScan · printed pages 7–19

Work through these checks

  1. 01 · KING-DOME 9630 / 9630-LP

Match the exact model, product code and manual edition. Record the existing connections, status indicators and displayed error without changing them. Preserve settings and stored data; do not reset, flash software, format storage or alter wiring as a first check. Keep account details, device identifiers and precise location private.

  2. 02 · 9630 / 9630-LP / AUTOSCAN / 169999 / 170000 / 99 / 00 / OH / 77

Match 9630 or 9630-LP AUTOSCAN to section 3 of the KING original 1305 Revision E, choosing serial 169999 and lower or 170000 and higher before interpreting the controller. The older branch documents a 99-to-00 countdown followed by OH, a flashing 77 during scan and automatic controller shutoff after two minutes; do not apply that display sequence to the newer branch. The newer page describes startup codes followed by steady elevation, then a flashing clock position during an existing scan. These AutoScan instructions rely on watching the receiver's signal meter and do not make this a 9702 automatic-lock controller. Record the actual display, serial range and receiver-screen symptom before changing anything. A visible receiver menu with missing programming is different evidence from a dead TV input. Do not start repeated motion, enter service-keypad codes, recalibrate, open the dome, climb onto a roof or disturb powered coax as an initial test. Keep identifiers private. The linked KING-authored service original is held by RV Tech Library, not the manufacturer; its old transponder/provider examples do not guarantee current broadcast or receiver compatibility.

When to stop and get help

Do not continue these checks in unsafe conditions. For immediate danger, use local emergency services and the device’s emergency instructions. Otherwise, contact your provider or a qualified technician.

What to tell support

Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything.
