MCD-4800 · Exact manual and safe first checks

Ground Control MCD-4800 · The Football · v2.3 · ©2015 · Hughes 9450

Applies to: Ground Control MCD-4800 · The Football · v2.3 · ©2015 · Hughes 9450

Work through these checks

  1. 01 · MCD-4800 / Hughes 9450

On an already authorized local connection, the original MCD-4800 controller uses 192.168.128.200; Hughes 9450 status uses 192.168.128.100. Record which interface opens and its existing status. An installation may use changed addresses. Do not change network settings, reset the unit or start a data session just to diagnose it.

  2. 02 · GPS / BGAN / Usage Statistics

Record GPS acquisition and satellite connection status separately. The manual also distinguishes overheating shutdown from a Wi-Fi fault. Keep clear of the transmitting terminal; do not move it while transmitting or force a restart after overheating. Trip Usage Statistics and Lifetime Usage Statistics are different estimated counters, not billing records. Preserve both without resetting them.

When to stop and get help

Do not continue these checks in unsafe conditions. For immediate danger, use local emergency services and the device’s emergency instructions. Otherwise, contact your provider or a qualified technician.

What to tell support

Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything. Ground Control MCD-4800 · The Football · v2.3 · ©2015 · Hughes 9450
