Work through these checks
01 · Comtech CDM-700
Match the exact model, product code and manual edition. Record the existing connections, status indicators and displayed error without changing them. Preserve settings and stored data; do not reset, flash software, format storage or alter wiring as a first check. Keep account details, device identifiers and precise location private.
02 · CDM-700 / MN/CDM700.IOM / Tx Status / Transmitter On / Remote/EDMAC / Event-Log / Clear-All
Match CDM-700 to MN/CDM700.IOM Revision 5 dated 12 December 2008, not the date embedded in its former download filename. Read Tx Status separately from Transmitter On: an unlit Tx Status can mean no modulator configuration or disabled interface transmission, while Transmitter On reflects the actual transmitter state. Do not enable either to test. Compare unit, transmit and receive alarms and note whether external redundancy has placed the modem in standby. A green Remote/EDMAC permits local monitoring but not local control in this edition; preserve the control owner's settings. Read Monitor > Event-Log > View and keep fault and recovery timestamps. Do not choose Clear-All, change carrier, interface, clock or redundancy settings, start a loopback, reset or flash. Keep circuit identifiers private. This is an existing, fingerprint-verified archive of the manufacturer original; the current manufacturer link failed. It is not a promise of current firmware support or a generic CDM-family indicator guide.
When to stop and get help
Do not continue these checks in unsafe conditions. For immediate danger, use local emergency services and the device’s emergency instructions. Otherwise, contact your provider or a qualified technician.
What to tell support
Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything.
