Original Thuraya XT-DUAL satellite and GSM phone, 104-page English manufacturer manual with visible copyright 2011; no printed revision identified. The OEM FAQ is dated March 2012. This is not XT-PRO DUAL, its V2 variant, X5-Touch or original XT. Historical documentation does not establish current GSM/SAT availability, roaming, software support or activation.
How it connects
This phone operates in either SAT or GSM mode according to its existing System preference. The manual describes SAT only, SAT preferred, GSM only and GSM preferred; preferred modes can fall back and periodically search for the preferred network. This is not evidence of simultaneous dual-SIM operation. The USB/Data connector provides the historical computer-data path; the ear-set jack and Bluetooth audio are separate functions.
Lights and messages
- The screen distinguishes SAT, GSM, Roaming and HPA from Active call and Mute. HPA is an incoming-call alert under weak satellite signal, not an already established voice call. A blinking SAT icon or incorrect service area can prevent SAT calls; SAT registration applies only while the handset is in satellite mode.
- GmPRS/GPRS access points distinguish packet data from the CSD bearer and depend on provider support for the SIM. The separate Auto reject setting determines whether incoming calls are rejected while GmPRS is active. Read the existing setting before treating a data-time incoming-call failure as an antenna fault; do not change it to reproduce the symptom.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- The historical package lists an ear-set, USB data cable, 2 GB Micro SD card and Support-CD. The original diagram separates USB/Data, ear-set and Micro SD connections. These exact-model records do not establish compatibility with every card, another XT family or today’s computer drivers; the original PC software context is Windows 7/Vista/XP.
These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
