Match the white New Sky Box shown in Sky New Zealand’s quick-start guide, with SAT IN1, SAT IN2, NETWORK and HDMI on its rear. Do not apply UK Sky Q, Sky Pod or older black-box instructions. Confirm your account’s delivery setup with Sky before changing it.
How it connects
- Installed satellite lead SAT IN1 in the official satellite setup
- White New Sky Box HDMI to selected TV input
- TV HDMI input
The quick-start diagram directs the existing satellite lead to SAT IN1 and HDMI to the matching TV input. NETWORK is the Ethernet connection to the router; wireless setup is an alternative in the on-screen setup. These are separate paths. Stop recordings and disconnect power before checking accessible connectors. Never use a splitter or alter shared-building wiring based only on this diagram.
Lights and messages
- TV input and local menu: The TV must use the HDMI socket connected to the box. A missing local menu calls for display-path checks before satellite reception checks.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- Supplied voice remote: The quick-start guide describes removing the battery pull tab for initial automatic pairing. That is a first-install step, not a universal re-pairing command for an already used remote.
- Original power supply: Use the supplied model-matched power supply. A connector that fits does not prove electrical compatibility.
These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
