Samsung SMT-S7800 only, original User Guide Part No. GL68-00414A (Ed.01), printed on the cover spread. Match the installed label and Product information. This is not another Samsung recorder or a HUMAX model. Historical Freesat and network-media instructions do not establish present channel, app, server or software availability.
How it connects
SAT IN1 and SAT IN2 are the satellite inputs; HDMI OUT, TV/VCR SCART and video/audio outputs are separate display paths. The guide requires two satellite feeds for independent watching/recording and describes limited simultaneous frequencies with its splitter arrangement. ETHERNET is a separate local-network path. Observe the installed arrangement without adding a splitter, moving leads or changing setup.
Lights and messages
- Match the front display to the existing operating mode. The guide says Active Standby changes to Low Power Standby after five minutes; that mode has a blue LED but no front display, TV service or fan. A dark display therefore needs mode context before a hardware diagnosis. Read Product information for installed versions; do not wake or interrupt a recording merely to create a comparison.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- The original package lists HDMI, SCART and video/audio cables, which serve different outputs. USB Media is a separate feature: this edition explicitly excludes external USB HDDs and USB hubs. Do not apply a HUMAX external-drive recording workflow or format an existing device to force recognition. Preserve attached media and use the exact Samsung instructions for qualified support.
