SAILOR 4300 with 4338A BDU and 4352A ADU covered by original manual 98-159912-C, dated 4 October 2018. The manual is manufacturer-authored and linked from distributor E-SAT. It is not verified as the latest revision. Confirm your installed hardware, software and current airtime service before applying this historical procedure.
How it connects
The 4352A above-deck antenna links to the 4338A below-deck unit over the system coaxial cable. The BDU provides the local user interfaces; the 2018 manual assigns computers and SIP phones to user LAN 2, 3 or 4. Trace those existing labels separately from the service port. Local access to the BDU can work while satellite registration or a data session is unavailable.
Lights and messages
- Read Power, Terminal and Antenna as separate indicators. In this revision a flashing green Antenna LED means signal available, steady green means connected and steady yellow means denied. A red Terminal LED can involve the BDU, ADU or modem, so capture the event list before assigning the fault to a component.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- The manual’s system uses a TNC-ended coaxial antenna link and wired user-LAN connections. Match cable type, length and any power or phone accessory to the installed system documentation; a connector that fits is not a compatibility test. Ask the authorized installer to assess existing cable damage or an unfamiliar adapter rather than adding a generic booster or replacement supply.
These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
