Match the installed FB250 and this exact 2013F2-UM0221-V1_03 edition. Settings → Terminal Info → Information identifies software, Model ID, IMEI and antenna serial; keep these private. The shared manual also covers FB500, but its antenna, class and throughput are not transferred. Later 2014 V2.3 and 2022 systems require their own documents.
How it connects
One coaxial cable carries RF and DC power between the above-deck antenna and below-deck unit. The BDU has four RJ45 LAN ports, including two PoE ports, separate RJ11 Phone and Fax ports and a dedicated Primary Handset connection. Its local browser console and Wi-Fi are distinct from a satellite data context. Read existing connections without disturbing powered coax.
Lights and messages
- Read the named LED, not colour alone. ADU blinking green means satellite search; steady green means satellite lock. REGISTERED blinking amber means voice only, blinking green packet data only, and steady green voice and data readiness. BDU steady green indicates successful power-up; it does not by itself prove satellite registration.
- Web Console CS, PS and GPS indicators represent separate service or position states. Orange means active and grey inactive in this edition. The documented registered-with-no-active-data message separates registration from a PDP context; it is not a command to activate data for diagnosis.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- The original main-unit set lists the FB250 ADU, BDU and wired Primary Handset; that handset is powered from its dedicated BDU port. The connection diagrams separately show local computers, router, analogue phone and G3 fax. Do not infer that these external devices or an FB500 antenna are included or interchangeable.
