Hughes HN9000, User Guide 1037577-0001 Revision F, 15 September 2011, for the United States and Canada. This historical SPACEWAY-era document is not for HN7000S, HT1100, HT2000W or HT3000W. Match the installed label and software; current activation, coverage and service eligibility remain provider questions.
How it connects
The installed antenna uses SAT. IN and SAT. OUT; one RJ45 Ethernet port connects the modem to a computer or an existing hub/router network. The multi-user example requires separate LAN equipment. Distinguish that local network from the satellite path and leave RF cables, addressing and routing unchanged.
Lights and messages
- Read the LED names. LAN on means a network device is connected. Blinking Transmit/Receive shows packet activity; blinking System means boot or commissioning. Power blue means supplied power, while Power red means excessive modem temperature in this exact manual. Record the full pattern without opening or moving hot equipment.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- The original package includes its power supply and Ethernet cable. The guide requires the supplied power unit and upright operation on the built-in base for ventilation. Hubs, routers and wireless base stations are separate user-provided equipment. These historical package notes do not approve replacement supplies or modern service compatibility.
These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
