How it connects

The HN7700S covered by guide 1037073-0001 Rev D (13 August 2007) has two LAN ports, serial connectivity and optional VADB telephone backup; this is not the separate terrestrial-router configuration. The NOC can provision the Ethernet ports on one subnet or independent subnets, so do not assume LAN1 and LAN2 are interchangeable. A blinking green port lamp indicates an Ethernet link. The orange lamp means 100BaseT when on and 10BaseT when off; it is not an alarm. Record the port, computer address, Receive/Transmit states and current System Control Center information. A local page or working backup does not prove satellite recovery. Preserve IP addressing and installed backup. Do not bridge ports, place a dial-backup test, recommission, reset, disable security or touch powered SAT IN/OUT. Historical documentation does not establish current airtime eligibility.
