WVB2 is an upright indoor bridge with a multicolor front light, power inlet and satellite-network connectors at the rear. The 2017 manual says it serves wireless Genie Mini clients from a compatible Genie server; it is not the home Wi-Fi router.
How it connects
- Installed DIRECTV system Installed SWiM/MoCA network
- Genie server + WVB2 Private DIRECTV wireless link
- Wireless Genie Mini
The WVB2 bridges a compatible Genie server to wireless Genie Mini clients over a private DIRECTV network. The manual specifies vertical placement and its own EPS10 supply. Its LED helps distinguish a server/MoCA fault from weak client wireless signal.
Lights and messages
- Solid blue: normal client connection. Blinking yellow: no MoCA network. Solid red: Genie connection good but one or more wireless clients have poor signal. Blinking red: device error.
- Solid green: server link works but no clients are paired. Blinking green: MoCA is present without Genie-server communication.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- Keep the supplied EPS10 power supply and upright installation. Do not buy a home Wi-Fi booster or reposition the outdoor dish based only on WVB2 colors. Ask DIRECTV about a persistent device error or managed coax network.
