DIRECTV Gemini for satellite

Gemini satellite-client setup and the official path for connection errors 630 and 632.

Confirm your model

This is a Gemini device used with a main Genie HR44/HR54 or Genie 2 HS17. It connects to a TV and communicates with the main receiver; do not treat it as a dish-connected receiver or confuse it with Gemini Air for streaming-only service.

How it connects

  1. Main Genie / Genie 2 Home video network
  2. Gemini client HDMI
  3. TV
Simplified signal path, not an installation or rewiring diagram. Follow the linked manual for power connections, grounding and your exact hardware revision.

Gemini may use a Wireless Video Bridge or a wired Ethernet/coax adapter path. Match the setup DIRECTV installed; a connection error may be local to Gemini even while the main Genie works.

Lights and messages

  • DIRECTV says errors 630/632 mean Gemini cannot reach the Wireless Video Bridge or main Genie. Check the exact screen code and whether the main receiver is on.
  • A green Gemini light is DIRECTV’s stated connection clue for the wireless bridge path. Do not infer satellite dish failure from this light alone.

A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.

Before buying parts

  • Use DIRECTV-provided Gemini power, remote and the connection adapter required by your installed wired or wireless path. Confirm replacements with DIRECTV.

These are compatibility notes and official reference links. Confirm the fault and exact part before buying.
