Confirm your model
Read the 6131 equipment label. Some Bell tutorials cover both 6131 and 6141, but use the selected model and actual remote. Bell Fibe TV and app-only service instructions do not describe this satellite receiver.
How it connects

Retain the working installation’s matching cables when following Bell’s replacement instructions. The external hard drive connects separately through USB and its own power supply. Do not mistake USB storage setup for antenna commissioning or Wi-Fi repair.
Lights and messages
- An external-drive formatting request may erase data; cancel if files or recordings matter.
- Replacement setup can show authorization and guide-download Attention messages; record the exact code before restarting repeatedly.
A light is one clue, not a complete diagnosis. Match the indicator’s label and the on-screen message.
Before buying parts
- Use the supplied drive USB cable and the drive’s own mains power. Check Bell’s current drive specifications before buying. Do not assume a flash stick, SSD or another receiver’s formatted recordings will work. Keep the receiver and drive ventilated.
