Work through these checks
01 · SELFSAT SNIPE 2 · auto-skew · manual v1.0
Match the exact model, product code and manual edition. Record the existing connections, status indicators and displayed error without changing them. Preserve settings and stored data; do not reset, flash software, format storage or alter wiring as a first check. Keep account details, device identifiers and precise location private.
02 · HOME / GPS / NID / SAT FOUND
Match the original SNIPE 2 auto-skew antenna and controller in the version 1.0 manual; do not transfer these controls to SNIPE 3, 4, 5 or another controller. The black Controller cable and grey Receiver cable look similar but serve different sockets: identify labels with power isolated, without swapping live coax. HOME steady means folded into its home position; it does not mean a satellite is found. The Communication lamp indicates controller communication, GPS flashing means position acquisition, and steady NID check plus SAT FOUND means the selected satellite was identified. A flashing GPS can persist after satellite lock. Record the selected satellite and exact HOME POSITION, TUNER, MOVEMENT or COMMUNICATION error before changing settings. USB is an upgrade port, not an ordinary media-input fix. Preserve transponders and skew; no test mode, firmware or reset for this check. Stop for grinding or blocked movement and arrange service. Confirm safe HOME stow before moving the vehicle; do not rely on automatic stow.
When to stop and get help
