Work through these checks
01 · SEFRAM 7849
Match the exact model, product code and manual edition. Record the existing connections, status indicators and displayed error without changing them. Preserve settings and stored data; do not reset, flash software, format storage or alter wiring as a first check. Keep account details, device identifiers and precise location private.
02 · 7849 / Check Sat / NIT / Sync ? / MER / LKM / Factory recovery
Match 7849 to the SEFRAM original, revision 3.0, November 2015, 103 pages; do not substitute 7849B or 7848. Record the existing Check Sat state: identification requires synchronization on all four configured transponders. Red means not all four are synchronized; orange means all four synchronize but quality is average; green indicates quality above 50 percent. Changed transponder data can affect identification, so preserve the current list and record it. An existing NIT name depends on broadcaster table contents and can be wrong. Sync ? means absent or unlocked signal, not proof of a failed meter. Keep RF level separate from MER and LKM quality/margin readings. Record remote-power warnings: voltage may already be present or maximum current exceeded; safely isolate powered feeds before accessible cable inspection, never repeatedly reconnect live. Factory recovery erases the setup library and measurement lists. No dish/motor tests, voltage or configuration changes, resets, updates, calibration, fuse or battery work; never interrupt a known update. Protect site/network identifiers; historical examples do not guarantee current services. Documentation context: the SEFRAM-authored 7849 original is hosted in the B&K archive.

What to tell support
Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything.
