Work through these checks
01 · KING-DOME 9702 / 9702-LP
Match the exact model, product code and manual edition. Record the existing connections, status indicators and displayed error without changing them. Preserve settings and stored data; do not reset, flash software, format storage or alter wiring as a first check. Keep account details, device identifiers and precise location private.
02 · 9702 / 9702-LP / POWER / STATUS / 169999 / 170000 / ON/SEARCH
Match 9702 or 9702-LP to the automatic section of KING 1305 Revision E, not the 9630 AutoScan or Trac-King instructions. Read POWER separately from STATUS: steady green power shows the unit is powered, while the status sequence distinguishes self-check, red search, blinking green potential satellite and steady green satellite found. A found satellite does not itself establish that it is the requested provider or that current programming is receivable. Record the existing ON/SEARCH state, light sequence and receiver menu or program display without starting repeated searches. The original allows time for receiver program information; compare the TV's selected input and existing receiver screen before treating every blank channel as a dome failure. Although basic operation covers all serials, the wiring chapters separate 169999 and lower from 170000 and higher. Do not transfer a diagram between those branches or open, probe or rewire the dome. Do not apply old programming codes, factory-reset or make roof-level checks as first steps. Keep serial details private. This existing technical-archive copy is the KING original, not a present-day service, warranty or compatibility promise.
