Work through these checks
FELCOM70 · ISDN
Record the existing handset’s provider, ocean region, message and power indication separately. Do not assume the FELCOM 30/50 LED table matches this communication unit. Do not operate Priority Call, Distress Test, Test Buzzer or the Distress Alert Unit. Leave cables and power unchanged; make no test calls.
SW version / Version Info
Phone setup > SW version reports handset software; Information > Version Info concerns system components. Record them separately. Read existing Alarms & Msgs, Alarm List or Info Log without Clear Causes or enabling Diagnostics. Reading an alarm can stop its flashing while the symbol remains if the cause persists. Do not reset, update or restart satellite searches.
RS-232 B / RS-422
RS-232 B and RS-422 share a selectable driver. Selecting RS-422 disconnects RS-232 B. Record an already visible choice; do not switch it as a test.
When to stop and get help
Do not continue these checks in unsafe conditions. For immediate danger, use local emergency services and the device’s emergency instructions. Otherwise, contact your provider or a qualified technician.
What to tell support
Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything. Furuno FELCOM70 · Fleet F77 · OME-56340-C1 · 2005-07-26 · FELCOM70 / ISDN
