Work through these checks
01 · Dish TV S8200 · original receiver
Match the exact model, product code and manual edition. Record the existing connections, status indicators and displayed error without changing them. Preserve settings and stored data; do not reset, flash software, format storage or alter wiring as a first check. Keep account details, device identifiers and precise location private.
02 · V4.4 / V4.6 / Signal Lock / Installation > System Info / Wi-Fi / Ethernet
For S8200, select the matching original-remote V4.4 or newer-remote V4.6 manual; these are two editions for one equipment entry. The Signal Lock indicator is different from the power and standby indicators. Read Installation > System Info without updating software. A Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection does not prove satellite reception, and broadcast TV does not require internet setup. Do not reset, rescan, format storage or change dish wiring. Freeview completed its satellite transition on 15 April 2025. Old satellite names and connected-service claims in these manuals are historical, not current tuning instructions. Check the linked current Freeview advice before any retuning; do not physically repoint a dish from an old menu name. Ask a qualified installer about dish or shared-cable faults.

What to tell support
Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything.
