Applies to: Dish TV S7070rHD-XM · V1.3 original · OEM V1.3, August 04 2016; S7070rHD-XM, not an older SD S7070r
Work through these checks
01 · Dish TV S7070rHD-XM · V1.3 original
Match the exact model, product code and manual edition. Record the existing connections, status indicators and displayed error without changing them. Preserve settings and stored data; do not reset, flash software, format storage or alter wiring as a first check. Keep account details, device identifiers and precise location private.
02 · System Info / LNB IN / LOOP OUT / Tuning Failed / Database Empty / Radio
Match S7070rHD-XM to V1.3, August 2016. In System Info, read the software version; keep the serial number private. LNB IN is the dish input; LOOP OUT is a different connection. If menus remain visible but Tuning Failed or Database Empty appears, record the reception error rather than treating it as a failed HDMI output. Audio alone may be Radio mode. Do not rescan, reset, flash software or move live cables. Freeview completed its satellite transition on 15 April 2025. Old satellite names and connected-service claims in these manuals are historical, not current tuning instructions. Check the linked current Freeview advice before any retuning; do not physically repoint a dish from an old menu name. Ask a qualified installer about dish or shared-cable faults.
When to stop and get help
Do not continue these checks in unsafe conditions. For immediate danger, use local emergency services and the device’s emergency instructions. Otherwise, contact your provider or a qualified technician.
What to tell support
Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything.
