Work through these checks
01 · Comtech CDM-760
Match the exact model, product code and manual edition. Record the existing connections, status indicators and displayed error without changing them. Preserve settings and stored data; do not reset, flash software, format storage or alter wiring as a first check. Keep account details, device identifiers and precise location private.
02 · CDM-760 / MN-CDM760 / UNIT STATUS / TRANSMITTER ON / Tx TRAFFIC / REMOTE / Clr
Match CDM-760 to the cover of MN-CDM760 Revision 4, which references firmware 1.7.3 or higher. Do not borrow CDM-570A or CDM-625A indicator rules. Here a red UNIT STATUS can represent a unit, transmit or receive fault; read the exact alarm before assuming a power-supply failure. TRANSMITTER ON shows whether transmit IF is enabled, while green Tx TRAFFIC reports that the transmit path hardware and firmware are not faulted; these are different observations. REMOTE indicates remote-control availability, but this edition states that local monitoring and control remain available: its light does not itself mean the keypad is locked. Preserve control ownership and record the actual display. Read existing dated events without selecting Clr, so fault and recovery history remains available. A redundancy standby or chosen test mode is not proof of failed hardware. Keep frequency, transmit power, clock, framing, packet and redundancy settings intact. Do not enable transmission, start loopbacks, factory-reset, flash or probe live RF as a test. Keep circuit and network identifiers private. When to stop and get help
Do not continue these checks in unsafe conditions. For immediate danger, use local emergency services and the device’s emergency instructions. Otherwise, contact your provider or a qualified technician.
What to tell support
Write down your exact model, service provider and on-screen message. Photograph the existing connections for your own reference before changing anything.
